TIVERTON 1st CANDIDATES TAKE MAJORITIES ON EACH BODY: CONGRATULATIONS & THANK YOU!

Of the fifteen local candidates recommended by Tiverton 1st (and also supported by the Tiverton Democratic Town Committee), thirteen were elected.

Five of our candidates will make up the majority of the Town Council: Denise deMedeiros, Ed Roderick, James Arruda, Brett Pelletier and Bill Gerlach.

All three of our candidates were elected to fill three open seats, and a majority, of the School Committee: Sally Black, Carol Herrmann, & Jerome Larkin.

Five of our Budget Committee candidates were elected for the six open seats: David Perry, Laura Epke, Joseph Bento, Joshua Mello, and Alexander Cote.

Both State Representative candidates recommended by Tiverton 1st were elected. Jay Edwards defeated his TCC-endorsed opponent overwhelmingly, while Dennis Canario was unopposed.

T1-recommended Town Council candidate Renee DeJesus-Jones and Budget Committee candidate Mark Larsen also finished strongly, each falling around 100 votes short of election.

TCC-supported Town Councilors Jay Lambert and Joan Chabot were re-elected. TCC President & Town Councilor David Nelson, and TCC Town Councilor Robert Coulter were not re-elected.

Congratulations & thank you to everyone who played a part in tonight's local election outcome, from the candidates who were willing to run, to all who attended T1 events & spread the word, to those brave souls who stood with signs & cards in the cold. It took a community of diverse people coming together, & we couldn't have done it without everyone's efforts. I'm honored to have been a part of it. Let's enjoy it, & then continue the efforts to unify the town, keep the debate respectful & factual, and show how much people of good will can accomplish.

Tiverton 1st-Tiverton Proud!
