As a member of the Budget Committee for the last two years, I am proud of the responsible and fair budgets that we recommended to voters. Our budgets maintained town services, provided for needed capital investments and protected our reserves, all at a minimal increase to taxpayers (this year’s increase was the lowest in a decade).
Teamwork and respect enabled us to produce these budgets. We effectively accomplished our job by sharing the workload, valuing each other’s skills and knowledge, and working through our differences by engaging in respectful dialogue.
Precisely because of their emphasis on teamwork and respect, I am proud to be endorsed by Tiverton 1st and will be voting for their slate of candidates. I am grateful that they have stepped up to move Tiverton in a welcome, and much needed, positive direction.
