A joint meeting of the Budget Committee, School Committee, and Town Council was held on January 10. All parties came to the table committed to working together. Putting all items on the table so there are no surprises, continued open meetings and discussions with all parties, and doing what is best for the entire town of Tiverton and its taxpayers were the main talking points.
The first Budget Committee meeting will be held next Thursday. We will do our best to keep you informed throughout the process. However, we do encourage you all to attend any of these meetings to ask questions and stay informed. This process is going to move very quickly as the Budget Committees ballot proposal, resolutions and docket is due to the Town Clerk on 4/7/13. The Financial Town Referendum has been scheduled for 5/21/13.
